Woman vows to marry HERSELF on 40th birthday after not finding

  • The 39-year-old is about to kiss the single life goodbye – despite having not found a partner.

Determined not to “fit into today’s society”, the bride-to-be is going the whole hog and sending out invites to her buffet dinner, disco and two hen parties.

Despite never finding the right man for her, Lynne is “happy being me”.

In celebration of turning 40, Lynne will enjoy the white wedding of her dreams – something she has always wanted to do.

    With or without a groom.

The business analyst said: "I've been single for a while now and have no interest in being in a relationship.

“I did get engaged once, when I was younger, but it was silly and nothing came of it.

"I thought this way I could give loved ones an opportunity to wear their wedding outfits and celebrate just being my quirky self."

Inspired by watching an episode of Friends where three characters try on wedding dresses, Lynne will declare herself “off the market” for good on April 8.

Even though there cannot be a legal ceremony to marry yourself, that hasn’t stopped the Yorkshire lass from bagging herself a wedding dress and make-up trials.

She said: “The staff at the Wed2B store were absolutely beside themselves when I told them I was actually planning to marry myself.”

Although research has shown that being married can lower your blood pressure over time, lovebirds spend an average of £24,000 on a wedding – enough to give anyone a heart attack.

Mum Flo Gollogly, 68, can’t wait to celebrate.

She said: "Lynne has just not met the right man and she is proud to do things by herself.

“I’m really looking forward to her party."
