Emily Ratajkowski thinks Blurred Lines was successful because she was just having fun on set and not considering her looks.
Emily Ratajkowski can take a break from worrying about her looks when making a movie.
The American beauty started her career as a model but became famous worldwide when she appeared topless and dancing in Robin Thicke's Blurred Lines video.
Off the back of that she's scooped Hollywood film roles including parts in Gone Girl and Zac Efron drama We Are Your Friends. In the latter she's busting some moves again but for once she didn't feel self-conscious in front of the camera.
"That's the one thing that's funny about going from modelling to acting. In modelling, you're supposed to think about what you look like all the time. When you're in front of the camera, if you're not considering that, God knows what the pictures will look like," she admitted.
"With acting, you have to completely forget it. And I think with the dancing stuff... I mean, that's maybe why Blurred Lines was such a success. We weren't thinking about what we looked like, we were just having fun, and I think that's the same thing that happened on this set."
Emily, 24, is just one of many models to move over to film - Suki Waterhouse, Cara Delevingne and Kate Upton are also part of the cohort. But while Cara has turned her back on the fashion industry, Emily wants to stay involved with both worlds.
"No, I definitely still do modelling. It is interesting scheduling-wise how those things work. I used to live in New York because I was primarily modelling, and now I live in Los Angeles, but I find myself here all the time for print work," she explained.
"I think that the stigmas against model-actresses - and even just like entertainer, celebrity chef, and musician - those kinds of walls have been broken down and you can do multiple things. So while I can, I don't see why I would stop."
